^[ENG] Since the publication of Pica Pica 1, Mark Bohle has continued filling sketchbooks without pause. Between Barcelona, Stuttgart, Berlin, and other transit points, this second installment gathers a selection of drawings from the thirty sketchbooks he has filled since December 2023.
     In the pages of Pica Pica 2, there are lines that think, scribbles that stretch, and drawings that laugh at themselves — all marked by the same curiosity and freshness as always. A natural continuation of Mark’s process: a way of looking that never stops.

     En las páginas de Pica Pica 2, hay líneas que piensan, garabatos que se estiran y dibujos que se ríen de sí mismos — todos marcados por la misma curiosidad y frescura de siempre. Una continuación natural del proceso de Mark: una forma de mirar que nunca se detiene.

Fang

^[ENG]  Fang is a personal visual exploration of the power of place in rousing trauma, stemming from the artist’s experience of being trapped in Catarroja, Valencia, during the DANA floods of October 29, 2024. Surrounded by violent waters on a small mound in a field with no help in sight, she mentally mapped countless escape routes—each ultimately impossible to take. In the months that followed, while mudlarking through altered streets for supplies, she confronted flashbulb memories; the remnants of both the disaster and what had become a futile imagined path to safety. Fang examines the interplay of trauma, memory, and reconstruction, using image-making as a way to see and process anew. It does not document the flood itself but rather the psychological and emotional terrain left in its wake—an attempt to reconcile what was imagined with what remains, and to expose the absence of aid for hundreds of thousands of Valencians who on that day and in the months to follow were left without warning, help or salvation.


^[CAS] Fang es una exploración visual personal sobre el poder del espacio en la concepción de un trauma, nacida de la experiencia de la artista al quedar atrapada en Catarroja, Valencia, durante la DANA del 29 de octubre de 2024. Rodeada por aguas violentas sobre un pequeño montículo en medio de un campo, sin ayuda a la vista,  la artista trazó mentalmente innumerables rutas de escape, todas ellas imposibles. En los meses siguientes, mientras rebuscaba entre las calles alteradas de su pueblo en busca de suministros, se enfrentó a recuerdos fulgurantes: los restos tanto del desastre como de lo que se había convertido en un camino imaginado e inútil hacia la salvación. Fang examina la interrelación entre trauma, memoria y reconstrucción, utilizando la creación de imágenes como una forma de mirar y procesar de nuevo. No busca documentar la inundación en sí, sino el terreno psicológico y emocional que dejó tras de sí: un intento de reconciliar lo imaginado con lo que permanece y de evidenciar la falta de apoyo a los cientos de miles de valencianos que aquel día, y en los meses posteriores, quedaron sin aviso, ayuda ni salvación.

A Guide on Gardening II

^[ENG]  Continuing with the visual research into the art of topiary, this new instalment of "A Guide on Gardening" shifts its focus to explore the concept of Niwaki. Through the photographic documentation of trees in Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo, the project examines how pruning practices extend beyond ornamental technique to embody principles of contemplation, harmony, and an intimate relationship with the surrounding environment. The resulting images capture a tradition deeply embedded in Japanese culture-one that shapes nature with restraint and precision, offering a nuanced perspective on topiary as a form of cultural expression.


^[CAS] Continuando con la investigación visual sobre el arte de la topiaria, esta nueva entrega de "A Guide on Gardening" cambia su enfoque para explorar el concepto de Niwaki. A través de la documentación fotográfica de árboles en Kyoto, Osaka y Tokyo, el proyecto examina cómo las prácticas de poda trascienden la técnica ornamental para encarnar principios de contemplación, armonía y una relación íntima con el entorno.
Las imágenes resultantes capturan una tradición profundamente arraigada en la cultura japonesa, una que moldea la naturaleza con contención y precisión, ofreciendo una perspectiva matizada de la topiaria como una forma de expresión cultural.

It is a testament not only to the fragility and vibrancy of each petal but also to the harmony and intensity of the natural hues that surround us—a celebration of beauty and the nature of the ephemeral. In her second exploration of color, Paula Codoner curates a visual essay that captures this delicate balance.

^[ENG] The experience of losing my mother changed the way I viewed life, human relationships, and the world itself. Grief as a process of emotional adaptation is a complicated path. In my case, traveling helped me a lot in the rebuilding process. Open Letter compiles images of the two consecutive trips I made to Iceland in 2016 and 2017.
      Every time September returns I feel the need to do some kind of tribute. After five years I have come to the conclusion that there was nothing that made more sense than this. Open Letter is a letter that she will never be able to read. It is also a publication with the photographs of those trips that marked a before and after in my life. My life after losing my mother. But above all it is a tribute to the people who fight every day like she did.
 
^[CAS] La experiencia de perder a mi madre cambió el modo en el que veía la vida, las relaciones humanas y el propio mundo. El duelo como proceso de adaptación emocional es un camino complicado. En mi caso, viajar me ayudó mucho en el proceso de reconstrucción. Open Letter recopila imágenes de los dos viajes consecutivos que hice a Islandia en 2016 y 2017. 
     Cada vez que vuelve septiembre siento la necesidad de hacer algún tipo de homenaje. Después de cinco años he llegado a la conclusión de que no había nada que tuviera más sentido que esto. Open Letter es una carta que ella jamás podrá leer. Es además una publicación con las fotografías de esos viajes que marcaron un antes y un después en mi vida. Mi vida después de perder a mi madre. Pero por encima de todo es un homenaje a las personas que pelean cada día como lo hizo ella.
