The Mediterranean Motorway, or AP-7, is the main artery that connects road traffic along the entire Spanish Mediterranean coast, from Algeciras to France. Its first section opened in 1969, and it was widely used in Francoist developmental propaganda as a symbol of progress and the start of Spain's consumer society.

Today, the imagery surrounding the highway is far from the optimistic fascination of the 1970s, and the landscape and architecture that accompany us on the journey evoke a sense of strangeness. This archival and research project seeks to find what lies beyond nostalgia in the narrative of progress and tourism in our country.

⚠️ There are two versions available: Spanish texts with English translations and Spanish texts with Catalan translations.
