Fractured memory
Manuel Castillo
Fragmented Memory consists of a research and compilation of photographic archives created between 2019 and 2022.
"Through an exhaustive curatorial process, I realized that since those years, the following patterns have been repeated in my work, either due to technical reasons, personal processes, or contextual factors: identity, sexuality, social unrest, immigration, architecture, pandemic, nature. All these obsessions, sometimes conscious, sometimes unconscious, converge in the same feeling. Neither the type of camera nor the format of the images is relevant."
"[...]

in front of the building that time will demolish
its walls
and the fiction of a country
and a territory
in front of the window next to the plain
elevated among the fog
[...]"
